Spiced Milk for Sleep: Superfood Recipe

We all love to indulge sometimes and thanks to zivaGUIDE Kelsey Mathes this year we can feel great while doing it! This Spiced Milk for Sleep is delicious and warm, the perfect thing to detoxify your body from excess while sliding you into a deep slumber.

This recipe utilizes some of our favorite superfoods like turmeric, ginger and cardamom that when combined with a good raw fat (like coconut milk/oil) become much easier to absorb into our body.

We suggest raw local honey, particularly during allergy season, as it’s a great treatment for seasonal allergies. Ideally, this means honey from within an hour or so of where you live.

Spiced Milk for Sleep

2 cups coconut milk or almond milk
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
2-3 grinds fresh black pepper
1 tbsp raw honey

Place all ingredients (except honey) in a saucepan on low heat. Bring to a simmer for 15 minutes. Turn the heat off and dissolve the honey in. Enjoy!
