Guilt is a Useless Emotion

Guilt is a bad habit and it is burning up your two most valuable resources - your time and your attention.

When you are relaxing at home do you feel the incessant need to check your phone because you feel guilty for not working?

When you are working late do you feel guilty for not getting home to make dinner or walk your dog?

With an ever growing number of things to do and apps to download it is easy to get trapped in the cycle of feeling guilty for having fun when you think you should be working and guilty for working when you think you should be having fun.  Gone are the days of a true 9-5 job.  With phones and wifi we can work anywhere, anytime so it is getting harder and harder to unplug and feel fully present.

Guilt is like that person you knew back in middle school that seems to keep sticking around even though you don’t really want them around anymore. Guilt is a bad habit and it is burning up your two most valuable resources.  Your time & your attention.
