All month long, we’ve been talking about forgiveness. But here’s a take on the practice that may feel new for you..
Forgiveness is a decidedly human practice.
So what does that mean? Well if we were truly omnipotent, if we were truly divine, forgiveness would be irrelevant.
You would never need to forgive because you’d always understand the full scope of why someone is acting the way that they are.
You’d be able to hold their past, present and future in your awareness, so it would be impossible to have anger for why someone has hurt you.
And so since we ARE human, we need forgiveness. We need it so we can let go of the negative charge and free up all the energy we could be using more positively.
We need to remember that most people are doing the best they can with the tools they have available.
Want more? Emily has a new video for you on this concept. It will wrap up our month on forgiveness and remind you that this is a life-long practice.
You can watch it here.
If you still haven’t gotten your forgiveness exercise, you can download it here and use it today. Our suggestion? Use it on one person at a time — that can be someone who hurt you, a public figure that’s caused you pain, or even yourself (the most profound one IMO).
